07/2003 - Newquay Town Centre CCTV System
JFS Security Systems Ltd were commissioned by Restormel Borough Council to design the new Newquay Town Centre CCTV System.

With particular attention to Newquay's unique population profile, which multiplies 100 fold during the summer, JFS Security prepared a quality blend of CCTV components to provide a truly exceptional CCTV system.

The CCTV system comprised of 18 Pelco Esprit, mostly column mounted strategically throughout Newquay, cabled by fibre optic back to a new bespoke CCTV control room.
JFS chose the Ultrak MaxPro matrix, with LCD touchscreen, joystick keyboards and a mixture of dedicated DVR's, conventional analogue VCR's and video printers.

This superb combination of cutting edge technology now enables the CCTV operators to easily co-ordinate both the Pelco Esprit cameras and the Police, to provide a safer environment for both the locals and visitors alike.

To date this advanced CCTV system has provided quality evidence for over 1200 incidents, making it one of the most efficient and successful CCTV systems in the Country.

2003 - Pelco means quality for
When it comes to food companies, few have a higher profile and finer reputation than H J Heinz. And when a name is built on top quality standards you can be sure the ethic runs through every aspect of the companies operation. So when Heinz decided on a total upgrade of the CCTV system at their frozen food plant at Okehampton near Exeter in Devon, their specifications were very precise. This facility, running 24hours a day, 7days a week, employs some 500 people and makes the majority of cheesecakes sold in the UK by different companies to the own recipes.

The contract to design, supply and install the new CCTV system was won in the face of fierce national competition by JFS Security Systems. The system they installed, supplied by PTS Security, comprised of 24 cameras, including 5, Pelco Spectra3 low light colour domes, a Pelco Esprit and a large number of Pelco camclosures. The cameras were cabled using a mixture of standard coaxial cable and NVT UTP twisted pair cable to adapt to the factory's unique power signature.

There was a major first for the project too. JFS Security Systems installed the first two Pelco DX2000 digital recorders to be sold in the UK. Review and control of the cameras is achieved via two Pelco DX2000 DVR units across a dedicated security LAN, which JFS also designed and installed.

Fred Madders, EHS and Security Manager for Heinz, has been delighted with the performance of the system. "It's excellent, a wonderful management tool", he said.
"The quality of the pictures stands out and we've also been highly impressed with the accessibility, different viewpoints and the ability to manoeuvre, zoom, watch and follow. The way the system was installed was also excellent and everyone who has seen it, including a number of directors, has been full of praise".
